My Paris Favorites - September 15, 2024

 By Mathilde Vuillemenot

Bonjour!

Now it's all over. The Paralympics were just as vibrant as the Olympic Games, full of amazing performances and a magical atmosphere of joy and excitement. Yesterday, Paris celebrated one last time with a parade on the Champs Élysées for the athletes, the organizing committee, volunteers, and everyone who contributed (police, firefighters, etc.). I didn’t get lucky enough to take part (there was a draw among the volunteers, and with 45,000 of us, not everyone could march), but a friend of mine did, so I lived it through his stories.

Now it's back to “normal,” and I have to say, the weather has made it a bit rough. It’s suddenly freezing, like November! Where’s our Indian summer? I’m hoping it returns soon because I’m looking forward to enjoying some mild September weekends, wandering through parks and browsing the flea markets!

❤️ My latest favorites in Paris

Paris now has a Cheese Museum! It opened in June, and I finally had the chance to visit — a real treat!! The museum offers an educational and interactive journey through France’s cheesemaking heritage and regions. The tour is led by a cheese maker and ends with a tasting. There’s also a traditional cheese shop, so you can pick up some cheese for a picnic nearby. It’s located on Île Saint-Louis, perfect for enjoying your cheese by the Seine—a very French experience!

Cheese Museum - 39 rue Saint-Louis en l'Île - Full price per adult: 20€ (a bit pricey, but worth supporting this unique initiative by passionate cheese makers).

 My favorite links

Today, my selection of the best links is all about the most beautiful gardens in Paris. My personal favorites are the Jardin du Luxembourg and the Square du Vert Galant (it’s tiny, but so peaceful!).

For those of you who have already been to Paris, which one is your favorite garden?
